"Which between AIDAprima or AIDAperla are you referring to?"
The popular cruise line, AIDA Cruises, has unveiled its plans for the winter season of 2025/26, featuring two of its sister ships, AIDAprima and AIDAperla. These identical vessels, each 300 meters long and 38 meters wide, with 18 decks and space for around 4300 passengers, will offer diverse routes and a wide range of on-board offerings.
While AIDAperla will spend the winter months in the Caribbean, sailing to destinations such as Grenada, Antigua, and Curaçao, AIDAprima will travel in Northern Europe during the same period. AIDAprima's itinerary includes routes in the Baltic Sea and the Great Winter Break Canaries route.
For families, both ships offer additional facilities, such as a Mini Club for children from six months old, a family restaurant Fuego, covered areas like the Beach Club, and activity deck Four Elements with water slides and a climbing garden.
The choice between AIDAprima and AIDAperla depends primarily on the travel period and preferred regions. In the beginning of the 2025 fall season, vacationers can travel from Hamburg to Barbados with AIDAperla, with stops in Lisbon and Tenerife along the way. On the other hand, AIDAprima will sail mainly from Kiel and Hamburg on new routes to Scandinavia, the Baltic Sea, and Norway's fjords, including visits to Christmas markets in cities like Danzig, Tallinn, and Helsinki, as well as winter sports events in Oslo. AIDAprima will also have a winter pause in the Canary Islands and offer short cruises to Scandinavian metropolises and the Atlantic coast.
Prices for these cruises vary. For example, a 14-day Caribbean cruise with AIDAperla currently costs from 2560 euros per person including flight in the premium tariff (as of August 21). On the other hand, for the travel date in 2026 from November 5 to December 3, the price starts at 3,335 euros per person including flight (as of August 21). A 70-day Metropolentour route on AIDAprima, starting and ending in Hamburg, has prices starting from 895 euros per person in the premium tariff (as of August 21).
AIDA Cruises operates a fleet of eleven ships, with AIDAprima and AIDAperla being part of the Hyperion class. Differences between the two ships in terms of equipment are minimal and mainly concern colors and decorative elements. A unique feature of the Hyperion class is the Skywalk on deck 15, a glass platform offering a view over the sea.
For those who prefer a more classic cruise experience, the smaller ships may also be of interest. AIDA will again offer more cruises to the USA starting in 2026.
In addition, AIDAnova and AIDAcosma, larger ships in the fleet, accommodating up to 6800 travelers, are also available for those seeking a more expansive cruise experience.
All in all, AIDA Cruises provides a variety of options for its passengers, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy during the winter season of 2025/26.
