Sascha Becker, the host of Aktuell Rheinland-Pfalz, is planning a documentary that delves into various perspectives on life in the countryside and city life. The documentary comes at a time when Rhineland-Palatinate is experiencing a decline in village life, with around 64,000 people leaving the countryside for the city each year.

Becker is particularly interested in personal stories and opinions about life in the countryside. He encourages input from local people, city escapees, stayers, returnees, mayors, young families, and long-time residents. Becker wants to understand if city life is significantly better than life in the countryside, and he is eager to hear about the positive aspects of village life such as good neighborliness, lively sports clubs, and beautiful nature.

On the other hand, city life can be characterized by high rents, street noise, and scarce parking spaces. Becker is also interested in hearing about the experiences of city dwellers, what they enjoy, what annoys them, and what they miss.

Participants are invited to share their thoughts and experiences through a form on the Aktuell Rheinland-Pfalz website. The form has a character limit of 5000 characters and includes a field for entering messages. It is important to note that certain fields must be filled out, including an undefined mandatory field.

Becker also encourages exchanging ideas about what's working, where there are challenges, and what politics needs to change in relation to life in the countryside and city life. A personal meeting with Becker is possible following the submission of the form.

The recent increase in population in cities of Rhineland-Palatinate alongside rising rental and housing costs is driven by factors such as population growth leading to heightened housing demand, limited availability of building land, rising construction costs, regulatory constraints in construction, and economic factors including income levels and interest rates; these dynamics push up property and rental prices as seen in cities like Trier where prices per square meter have steadily increased recently.

As the state election approaches, this documentary promises to provide valuable insights into the lives of Rhineland-Palatinate residents and the challenges they face in both the countryside and the city. Becker's documentary is set to be an engaging exploration of the pros and cons of rural and urban living in the state.
