Obituary: William T. Staman

William T. Staman, a beloved educator, arborist, and long-time member of Abraham C Treichler Lodge 682, passed away on August 25, 2025, at Masonic Village. Born in Columbia, Staman attended Millersville University and Penn State Harrisburg, earning degrees in Earth and Space Science and Master of Education.

Staman began his professional journey after graduating from Columbia High School, where he enlisted in the Navy in January 1963. He completed basic training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, graduating as an electronics technician. His tours of duty included Iceland, the USS Guadalcanal, and serving as a Naval Academy information officer.

Upon returning from service, Staman dedicated his life to education, teaching at Lower Dauphin High School and Cedar Crest High School. His passion for nature led him to become a certified arborist, owning Timber Wolf Tree services for 20 years.

Staman shared 54 years of marriage with his wife Jane. The family he leaves behind includes his daughter Emily, wife of Anthony Marino, son James Staman, and three grandchildren. Two of his brothers, James W. Staman III and Stephen Staman, preceded him in death.

Services for Staman will be held at a time convenient for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Masonic Village's Tree of Life Fund at 1 Masonic Village Dr, Elizabethtown PA 17022.
