Winnipeg Blue Bombers' Dalton Schoen Suffers Second Torn ACL, Misses Remainder of 2025 Season

Dalton Schoen, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' talented receiver, has had his 2025 season cut short due to a second torn ACL. The injury occurred near the end of the Labour Day Classic game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, a game the Blue Bombers went on to win.

Schoen, a native of Overland Park, Kan., had a promising start to his CFL career. In his first two seasons, he scored 26 touchdowns, made a combined 141 receptions, and amassed 2,663 yards. He was named Most Outstanding Rookie in 2022 and was named All-CFL in both his rookie and sophomore seasons.

However, Schoen's injury history has been a cause for concern. In 2024, he missed most of the season due to a torn ACL, playing only three regular-season games. He returned to play after a stint on the six-game injured list following the Week 5 injury. In his return, he caught five passes for 58 yards and scored one touchdown in the Labour Day Classic.

Unfortunately, this latest injury has forced him to be shut down for the rest of the 2025 season.

The Banjo Bowl game between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders, scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EDT on September 6, will be a tough challenge for the Blue Bombers without Schoen. The Roughriders currently have a better record at 9-2, while the Blue Bombers are 6-5.

Fans in Winnipeg can tune in on 680 CJOB, while those in Regina can listen to the game on 620 CKRM. The game will also be broadcast on TSN in Canada and CFL+ internationally.

Despite Schoen's absence, the Blue Bombers will be looking to continue their strong performance. They will need to rely on their other players to step up and fill the void left by Schoen. The Banjo Bowl game is always a hotly contested match, and this year promises to be no different.
