"With swift actions, even the largest mountains can be moved"
In the world of business and entrepreneurship, there are countless paths to success. One such journey belongs to Denis Teterin, the General Director of LLC "Solntse Moskvy". Recently, Teterin shared his career journey, insights, and advice at the "Territory of Meaning" forum.
Teterin's career began in 2005, when he was working as a bank manager. However, a meeting with a prominent banker sparked a new ambition within him, leading him to pursue a career in banking. His journey, though filled with challenges, was marked by his unwavering determination and passion.
One of the key lessons Teterin imparted was the importance of questioning the credibility of new information. He warned against relying too heavily on so-called info-speakers, urging everyone to verify the source and origin of the information they encounter.
Another important aspect of success, according to Teterin, is choosing the right people to surround oneself with. Whether an entrepreneur or a top manager, personal development depends on individual life goals and personal efforts. He emphasised the value of passionate employees who stay late because they're excited about a project, as opposed to those who merely work their scheduled hours.
Teterin's career took a turn when he decided to venture into entrepreneurship. He later built the largest covered thematic park in Europe, "Dream Island", in Moscow. This sprawling complex includes an amusement park, a shopping and entertainment center, and a landscape park with a promenade.
Teterin's most ambitious project to date is the highest observation wheel in Europe, with a height of 220 m, at VDNH. This feat of engineering showcases his ability to dream big and overcome obstacles.
Throughout his journey, Teterin faced skepticism from bankers and friends about his ability to build large projects. However, he succeeded despite these doubts, proving that success is achieved through persistent effort, regardless of the field one chooses.
Teterin encourages relying on successful individuals for inspiration rather than just listening to talk. He believes that following the advice of infospikers can lead one astray, as echoed by the Cheshire Cat's words: "If you don't know where you're going, any road will do."
Lastly, Teterin emphasised the importance of not fearing challenges and pursuing what one is passionate about. Money, he said, is not the sole measure of success; it serves as an indicator. Instead, success comes from the journey itself, the challenges overcome, and the dreams realised.
