In the heart of Hamburg-Rotherbaum, on Kennedy Bridge, an unfortunate incident occurred on the night of August 21, 2025, at 23:15. The scene of the crime involved several vehicles, including a black Mercedes E-Class, a white Smart Forfour, a gray Skoda, and a gray Daimler SLK.

According to the investigation, led by VD 22, the alleged cause of the accident was illegal street racing. The driver of the black Mercedes, a 26-year-old individual, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a lamppost. As a result, the black car and the white Smart were seized as evidence.

The driver of the white Smart, a 28-year-old German man, was found near the crash site and is currently under investigation. Initially, the white Smart was absent from the scene, but it was later found parked at the corner of An der Alster/Alstertwiete.

Both drivers showed signs of alcohol and/or drug influence, and blood samples were taken from them. The 26-year-old driver of the black Mercedes was transported to the hospital. The drivers of the gray Daimler, a 43-year-old individual, and his 41-year-old passenger sustained injuries in the accident.
