News Article: Two-Vehicle Collision on B255 Leaves Two Injured and a Hit-and-Run Driver at Large

In an unfortunate turn of events, a collision between a Skoda and a Toyota occurred on federal road B255 in Offenbach yesterday evening, resulting in two injured parties.

According to reports, the accident took place around 6:10 PM when the Skoda driver, a 29-year-old resident of Dillenburg, pulled out from a supermarket parking lot without noticing the approaching Toyota. As a result, the Toyota, driven by a 39-year-old resident of Herborn, was unable to avoid the collision, leading to a head-on impact.

Following the collision, the Skoda skidded about 100 meters into a green strip, while the Toyota ended up in a ditch. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and had to be towed from the scene. The drivers of both vehicles were injured and were transported to the Dillenburg hospital for treatment.

However, the identity of the driver responsible for the accident remains unknown. Meanwhile, another hit-and-run incident involving a truck occurred in Wetzlar this morning, causing approximately 5,000 euros worth of damage. The truck collided with a concrete cable box, causing it to shift and damage an adjacent power box. The identity of the driver who fled the scene remains unknown.

The police are seeking witnesses to both incidents and are asking anyone with information to contact the Wetzlar police station at (06441) 9180. They are also seeking information about the driver or their vehicle. The police headquarters for Middle Hesse can be contacted for further inquiries.

The federal road had to be fully closed during the recovery and rescue operations, which lasted until around 7:45 PM. The total damage to both vehicles is currently unknown. The police are seeking witnesses to the truck's collision with the cable box.

It is important to note that the incident in Wetzlar is separate from the accident on federal road B255. The police are urging drivers to exercise caution and to always observe traffic rules to prevent such incidents from occurring.
