In the quiet town of Werl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, a hit-and-run incident took place on Sunday morning. According to a press release from the Kreispolizeibehörde Soest, the incident occurred on Hammer Landstraße, where a 38-year-old woman was found injured at a fast-food restaurant.

The woman, who hails from Lünen, was reported missing by her relatives earlier. She was then taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance, with her injury described as light. The cause of the accident involving her vehicle is currently under investigation.

The initial report also mentioned that a vehicle was found abandoned in a field along "Der Breite Weg" in Werl-Holtum at 05:15. No one was found in the vehicle at the second location. The vehicle, a Renault, was driven out of the field and fled towards Hemmerde. Initially, it was thought that there was someone inside the vehicle, but they did not respond to attempts to get their attention.

Further investigations revealed that the driver of the vehicle could be the same 38-year-old woman found injured at the fast-food restaurant. It is believed that she was in a psychological crisis, and it was assumed she would return home soon.
