Woman perishes following altercation on Lübecker Straße; further details available
A tragic incident occurred in Magdeburg this Sunday afternoon, as a fatal attack took place around 12:15 PM on Lübecker Straße/Fabrikenstraße. According to the latest updates, the victim, a 59-year-old woman, died at the scene, while the suspect, a 57-year-old man, is currently receiving emergency medical care in a hospital.
The suspect, who is believed to be the former partner of the victim, inflicted injuries on himself using a stabbing instrument after the attack. The exact motives behind the attack remain unclear at this time.
Initially, the local police authorities were managing the investigations. However, the Central Criminal Police Office (Zentrales Kriminalamt) Magdeburg has taken over the case. The investigations are ongoing, and the Crime Scene Group of the LKA is assisting with the investigation.
A police helicopter was temporarily involved in the investigation, and the Central Criminal Investigation Department Magdeburg is now handling the case. The location of the incident, Lübecker Straße/Fabrikenstraße, remains the same.
