Solingen, Germany, is inviting groups, self-organizations, and associations to apply for funding for projects or events that align with the thematic focuses of "We Break Down Barriers" and "We Confront Loneliness."

The application process is straightforward. The necessary forms and guidelines can be found on the city's homepage for download. Alternatively, the application form can be obtained from the office of the councils, reachable at phone number 0212 / 290 - 5245 or by email at [email protected].

For projects starting or planned in December, a minimum of 500 euros is required, and applications must be submitted by October 31 to the City Service Social Affairs (50-4), c/o Frau Britta Simon, at City Hall Walter-Scheel-Platz 1, 42651 Solingen. It's important to note that applications for projects under 500 euros in the fourth quarter (October to December) must be submitted by September 30, 2024.

The Senior Council's thematic focus is "We're Confronting Loneliness," while the Council for People with Disabilities has set the thematic focus "We're Breaking Down Barriers" for the allocation of funds this year. Both councils' application forms and funding guidelines are available on the city's homepage at separate links.

The Senior Council's application materials can be found here, while the Council for People with Disabilities' materials can be found here.

Projects, events, or measures in Solingen can receive funding for initiatives related to the thematic focus or the themes of social participation, accessibility, or an inclusive society. Funds are still available until the end of the year.

The city encourages all eligible groups to review the funding guidelines, which are available on the city's homepage for download, to better understand the application process and criteria. By working together, we can create a more connected and inclusive Solingen.
