The Initiativenfonds, a vital part of the state program "NRWeltoffen" that our city portal has been participating in since October 2022, continues to accept applications for funding until 30 September 2025. Interested parties can apply for funding up to an annual amount of 2,000 euros per applicant.
The Initiativenfonds-Stiftung was founded by Professor Carl-Heinrich Esser, Dr. Harald Maurer, and another founder on January 2, 2000. The founders, along with other key figures, have been involved in the leadership of the foundation, and related foundations merged to form the current Stiftung Universität Mannheim in 2005.
Galina Borchers, Integration Officer of our city portal, expressed her appreciation for the excellent project proposals received this year. She also emphasised the ongoing shift to the right, stating that it underscores the need for continued efforts to strengthen democracy and tolerance and combat discrimination, hate, and incitement.
A concept of action against right-wing extremism, racism, and antisemitism was developed under the leadership of the Communal Integration Center. This concept was adopted by the city council of the city portal on 29 November 2023. The development of this concept was a collaborative effort involving engaged citizens, welfare associations, administration, and police.
"NRWeltoffen" supports municipalities in their preventive work against right-wing extremism and racism. The NRWeltoffen-Initiativenfonds has been supporting projects focused on right-wing extremism, racism, and/or antisemitism for the third consecutive year.
Galina Borchers welcomed all those who engage in efforts against discrimination, hate, and incitement. She encouraged everyone to visit our website (www.our website) to find the application form and further information about the Initiativenfonds.
Applicants are invited to submit their proposals to contribute to a more inclusive and tolerant society. Let us continue to stand against discrimination and right-wing extremism together.
