German Customs Officer Susanne Reink Shines at World Police and Fire Games

Susanne Reink, a customs officer from Hof, Germany, has made a splash at this year's World Police and Fire Games in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. The German team, consisting of over 50 athletes, participated in the large international sporting event for police officers, firefighters, customs officers, and other emergency services personnel.

Originally reported by news aktuell, Reink represented Germany at the games and brought home an impressive haul of eight medals. She won four gold, two silver, and two bronze medals in various swimming events.

Reink, who started swimming at a young age and joined a swimming club at six, has a particular affinity for the butterfly and freestyle swimming disciplines. She trains diligently, swimming between 2.5 to 3.5 kilometers three times a week, as a balance to her office work at the Regensburg Main Customs Office.

The games, which had participants from over 50 nations, featured an opening ceremony that included a live sea eagle flying through the hall. Reink competed in both pool and open water events, showcasing her versatility as a swimmer.

This isn't Reink's first taste of swimming success. In 2024, she won six gold medals at the European Police and Fire Games in Braga, Portugal. For further information, contact Nadine Striegel at Regensburg Main Customs Office at 0941 2086-1503 or email [email protected].

Looking forward to the next competition, Reink is already setting her sights on the World Police and Fire Games in Perth, Australia in 2027. The website for Regensburg Main Customs Office is www.zoll.de for those who wish to learn more about the organisation.
