Worm harvesting event 2025: Novel booths and kiosks will be featured
The Worms Backfischfest, a beloved local event, is set to return on Saturday, August 30, 2025. This year, visitors can look forward to a host of new attractions, food stalls, and a special photo spot as part of the city marketing and tourist information's #wormsliebe campaign.
New additions to the food offerings include "Lehmann's Diner," offering American-style burgers, fries, hot dogs, and chicken wings, and "La Pasta," serving a variety of Italian pasta dishes. The Backfisch stand and the sweet shop "Die Mandelkutsche" are also newcomers, promising delicious seafood and sweet treats respectively.
For those seeking thrills, the "Fahrt zur Hölle 2.0" ghost train by Hermann Fellerhoff & Sons is not to be missed. This Düsseldorf-based showman company is known for their expertise in horror-themed attractions, and have modernized this ride with the latest surprise effects and live actors for an unforgettable experience. In the evening, the ghost train includes live actors to scare visitors, adding an extra layer of excitement.
Another exciting new attraction is the "Happy Family" obstacle course, suitable for both children and adults. The course ends with a curve slide, but there's also a staircase for those who prefer a more leisurely route. For younger visitors, "Looping the Loop" offers a children's ship swing.
Classic favourites such as the "Riesenrad Juwel" and "Königlicher Wellenflug" will also be present, along with the return of the "Breakcance No. 1" ride after a year's break. This ride, operated by the Kinzler family, is one of the three largest breakdance rides in Germany, providing a thrilling experience for all.
A special photo spot for the #wormsliebe campaign has been set up for the first time at the Worms Backfischfest. Visitors can have their photo taken as a Backfisch bride and groom at this spot, adding a touch of romance to the festivities.
The Backfisch stand and the sweet shop "Die Mandelkutsche" were blessed by regional pastor Manfred Simon on Thursday evening, August 28, marking the official start of the preparations for the Worms Backfischfest 2025.
