Wuppertal Opera: Fazıl Say's Turkish Musical Compositions in the Kronleuchterfoyer
The Wuppertal Opera is set to host a unique song recital on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 7:30 PM, marking the first such event of its kind. The location of the event is KulturKarte, Kirchplatz 1, Wuppertal.
This recital is a standalone event and not part of the 'Chandelier Sounds' series. It is also separate from the performance of Fazıl Say's music that took place on February 12, 2023.
The recital will feature the music of Turkish composer Fazıl Say, with mezzo-soprano Banu Schult providing the vocal interpretation for his works. Soprano Nina Koufochristou and pianist Michael Cook will be the performers for the recital.
The performance will include songs from Fazıl Say's 2013 album 'First Songs', and the lyrics of the songs are based on poems by Turkish poets such as Nazim Hikmet and Cemal Süreya.
Till Schult, who has been the artistic director of the Ankara State Opera, will recite the poetic texts in German. Evrim Turan, known for his solo concerts with orchestras like the 'Ankara Presidential Symphony Orchestra', the 'Hacettepe University Orchestra', and the 'Bilkent Academy Orchestra', will accompany the performance on piano.
Admission to the event will be 30 minutes before it begins. For ticket bookings and subscription, please call the hotline at +49 202 563 7666. For any inquiries, you can contact [email protected].
This recital promises to take the audience into the world of Turkish music combined with poetic texts, offering an enchanting musical experience. Don't miss out on this special event!
