Yakutian forest fires showed a significant decline
In the vast expanses of the Republic of Yakutia, a significant forest fire has broken out, stretching between Khandyga and Tepliy Klyuch. An emergency mode is currently in effect throughout the region as firefighting efforts are ongoing to contain the blaze.
The fire, covering an area of approximately 112 thousand hectares, has prompted the introduction of local emergency modes in several districts, including Verkhnekolymsky, Verkhneviluysky, Ust-Maysky, Srednekolymsky, Tomponsky, and Olekminsky.
Over the past 24 hours, 9 forest fires covering 116 thousand hectares have been localized, and 46 forest fires covering 203 thousand hectares have been extinguished. However, as of the beginning of the day, 107 forest fires covering 331,080 hectares and 1 landscape fire covering 3,096 hectares remain active.
The Minister of Ecology in Yakutia, Andrei Konoplev, has reported on the fire, and 11 new forest fires covering 1,190 hectares have been discovered. The special fire prevention regime, which has been in effect in Yakutia since June 26, is currently in force in several districts, including Aldansky, Amginsky, Viluysky, Verkhoyansky, Verkhneviluysky, Kobyaysky, Olekminsky, Momsky, Megino-Kangalassky, Neryungrinsky, Namsky, Suntarsky, Srednekolymsky, Tomponsky, Tatinsky, Hangalassky, Churapchinsky, Ust-Al-dansky, Ust-Maysky districts, and the city of Yakutsk.
