Yearly Pink Run of Ho Chi Minh City to aid breast cancer patients expected to draw thousands of attendees
The 12th edition of the Pink Hat Day and Pink Run is set to take place on October 25, 2025, in HCM City's Bình Trưng Ward, with the theme "Self Love, Share Love." This annual event, organised by the Breast Cancer Network Vietnam (BCNV), aims to raise awareness of breast cancer and offer compassion and encouragement to patients.
The Pink Run, one of the highlights of the day, will feature distances of 2km, 5km, 10km, and 15km. It is anticipated that nearly 10,000 participants will join this year's event, including doctors, breast cancer patients, multi-generational families, people with disabilities, celebrities, influencers, and many more.
Among the participants is Uyên, a breast cancer patient and a five-year associate of BCNV. Uyên expresses her gratitude for the support she has received from the organisation, which facilitated her meetings with specialists, helped her understand her illness, and connected her with other patients. She encourages fellow patients and Pink Run participants to stay cheerful and optimistic during their fight against cancer.
Last year, the Pink Hat Day event attracted more than 7,500 participants and received 1,225 hair donations for wig-making. The funds raised were used for projects such as making wigs from real hair for chemotherapy patients, donating bras to survivors who had undergone mastectomy, supporting community campaigns, and organizing holistic care activities for patients.
In addition to the Pink Run, Pink Hat Day will also include hair donations, free breast cancer screenings, cancer knowledge seminars, and fundraising booths. This year's event is supported by nearly 50 healthcare experts, over 600 volunteers, partners such as AIA, Revitalash, and Asiana Plaza, and many other sponsors.
Đinh Thị Thu Hoài, the director of external affairs and fundraising at BCNV, emphasises the importance of self-love and sharing love in the fight against breast cancer. She encourages everyone to join the Pink Hat Day and Pink Run to show their support for breast cancer patients and to spread a message that cancer is not the end. With companionship, love, and sharing, every patient can find motivation and strength to keep fighting.
