Young girl returning from Anapa school camp in Yekaterinburg was assaulted by a local authority figure.
In a shocking incident that has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of children in such settings, a camp counselor attacked a schoolgirl on a train returning from a camp in Anapa to Yekaterinburg on August 30.
According to reports, the counselor's behaviour overshadowed the children's joy, as they were travelling with awards and diplomas for completing creative tasks. The woman made threats towards the schoolgirl, pushed and forced the teenager to sit on the floor, and even poured water from a bottle onto the child.
Adults, who were also on the train, filed a collective complaint with the police and a complaint to the ministry of education about the incident. The incident has been reported by various media platforms such as VKontakte, OK.ru, Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp, and others, and has gained attention from various media outlets, with the hashtags #police and #children being used in relation to the incident.
The Siberian Investigative Committee will check the actions of the police regarding the reported incident, and the police will investigate the incident on the train involving the counselor and the schoolgirl. The name of the camp leader who perpetrated the attack is not publicly available at this time.
