Young people flock to the second successful 'Training Night' held in Rödermark

The city of Rödermark recently played host to the "Night of Training", an event organised by the IHK Offenbach, aimed at offering young people a career perspective in local companies. The event, which took place on November 8, 2024, at the premises of adicon® Gesellschaft für Bauwerksabdichtungen mbH, served to facilitate the transition of students into working life.

Alexander Krebs, advisor for career orientation and education projects at the IHK Offenbach, emphasised the importance of the event. He stated that it bridges the gap between schools and businesses to attract young people for the start of dual training. Thomas Haberstroh, a key figure at adicon®, also highlighted the event's significance, noting that it allows companies to present themselves to local youth and bring the possibilities of training closer to them.

The IHK Offenbach is actively committed to strengthening the dual training system in the region. This commitment is evident in their dedication to providing comprehensive career orientation for young people, a goal that the "Night of Training" event is a part of.

Eight companies and institutions from Rödermark participated in the event, including the host company adicon®. However, at the time of writing, there are no available search results that specify which other companies from Rödermark registered for the event to present their training offers and career prospects to local youth. Training companies can still register with the IHK Offenbach am Main until November 15, 2024.

The "Night of Training" offered young people the opportunity to experience various training professions such as building sealers, office management clerks, and logistics specialists through workshops and discussion rounds. The event is taking place against the backdrop of a growing skills shortage, making initiatives like this all the more crucial.

Mayor Jörg Rotter expressed satisfaction with the success of the event. He highlighted the high value of the event's format and the long-standing cooperation between the city of Rödermark and local companies. The next date for the "Night of Training" is February 21, 2025, in Offenbach.

The opening ceremony of the "Night of Training" in Rödermark was led by IHK Vice President Michael Grunwald, Mayor Jörg Rotter, and the managing directors of adicon®, Thomas and Peter Haberstroh."
