Youngster physically assaults 21-year-old and takes cellphone; Federal authorities locate prime suspects shortly following incident in BPOL NRW
In a shocking incident at Bochum Central Station on September 8, a five-member group, including two Dortmund brothers with a history of violence and theft, allegedly attempted to steal a man's smartphone.
According to reports, the 21-year-old victim was approached in the main hall of the station, where the group surrounded him. When he refused to hand over his smartphone and sunglasses, a 15-year-old Kosovar citizen is said to have struck him in the face.
The victim, a German resident of Bochum, managed to escape, but not before sustaining a slight redness on his face. He refused medical treatment.
The suspects were later apprehended by the police on platform 3/4. The minor members of the group, aged 13, 14, and 15, were taken to a youth protection facility.
The federal police have initiated an investigation against the group for aggravated robbery as an organized crime. The legal representatives of the minor suspects, as per German law, are typically their parents or legal guardians, although specific names or entities are not detailed in the available information.
