Youth-driven vandalism causing copper thefts, as reported by Polish police.
In the tranquil city of Wiesbaden, Germany, two separate incidents of property damage have left authorities investigating and the community on edge.
On the evening of April 17, 2024, a six-meter-long copper cable was stolen from a construction site in Deponiestraße. The perpetrator(s) tampered with the cable reel, rendering the rest of the cable unusable. The specific location of the construction site within Wiesbaden remains undisclosed.
The following day, on April 18, the estimated property damage from the theft was approximately 10,000 euros.
In a separate, unrelated incident, a group of approximately six juveniles caused significant damage to two classic cars parked in a garage at Bahnhofsplatz, Wiesbaden. The vandals unlawfully entered the garage, jumping on the hoods of the classic cars and even gaining access to the vehicles. Some of the juveniles urinated inside the vehicles, while others damaged the gearshift, sun visors, fabric roof of a convertible, and caused several dents to the bodywork.
The incident was observed by others, and some of the juveniles were controlled and arrested by the responding police. After the conclusion of the police measures, the vandals were handed over to their legal guardians. The property damage from this incident is also estimated to be around 10,000 euros.
The specific individuals responsible for the vandalism of the two classic cars on Deponiestraße in Wiesbaden on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, have not been publicly identified.
