In the first ODI, Sri Lanka, while chasing 257, slipped from 225-6 to 244 all out. The West Indies Under-19 managed to hold on to their lead and secure a hard-fought victory.

The series continues with the second, third, and fourth ODIs on September 2, 4, and 7, respectively, also at Coolidge. The action will then shift to the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, for the fifth, sixth, and seventh ODIs, which will be played on September 9, 12, and 15, respectively.
