Neuss is all set to host a thrilling soccer tournament this weekend, with the first match scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, at 10 am, at the renovated Johann-Dahmen-Sportanlage, Holzheim.

The tournament will bring together teams from Dortmund, Cologne, Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf, Eupen, and Charkiv. Among the favourites are Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Metalist Charkiv, who have been making waves in the soccer world.

Borussia Dortmund, in particular, has a strong history in the tournament, with their 2009 team having made a particularly convincing appearance in the past league season, becoming champions with 65 points. This year, they are aiming to replicate that success. Borussia Mönchengladbach, too, started the 2021/2022 Bundesliga round on a high note, securing a 4:1 win in Bochum.

The city of Neuss has given the soccer field a new look for the tournament, ensuring a top-notch experience for players and spectators alike. To accommodate the expected crowd, a shuttle bus will be available for parking due to a parking problem in the area.

The Neuss region will be represented by the DFB selection of the Rhine district and a selection of the city. The U14 team from Charkiv has already shown their mettle in comparison games, with victories against Leverkusen, Schalke, and Wuppertal under their belt.

To add to the excitement, Zeynep, a former contestant on "The Voice Kids", will perform at the tournament. However, the artist who will interrupt the tournament's lunch break with a musical performance remains a mystery.

With the final match scheduled for Sunday at 16.15 pm, this tournament promises to be an unforgettable event for soccer enthusiasts in Neuss and beyond. So, mark your calendars and get ready to cheer for your favourite teams!
