Youthful Offenders Under Scrutiny by Munich's Federal Police Headquarters

In a shocking incident at Munich Central Station on May 27th, two teenagers, aged 16 and 18, attacked two students, resulting in injuries and a fatality.

The attack began as a verbal argument between several parties, following the intervention of the students who witnessed the initial push. The 18-year-old, without reason, pushed a 32-year-old homeless Bulgarian, triggering the sequence of events that followed.

The two aggressors then turned their attention to the students. The 16-year-old, known to the police for previous offenses, kicked one of the students, a 27-year-old from Nuremberg, several times. The second student, a 16-year-old, was also attacked, and both were injured in the incident. Tragically, one of the students succumbed to their injuries and died.

The sixth participant, who later fled the scene, added to the violence by kicking the fallen student on the ground in the face. The Federal Police Inspectorate Munich, responsible for policing and criminal investigations in the area of Deutsche Bahn facilities and the largest German S-Bahn network, intervened and separated all parties involved.

Federal Police officers clarified the incident with the help of station video surveillance. The responsible authority for investigating the suspected bodily injuries against the 16-year-old girl is the Munich Police Department, specifically the Criminal Investigation Department 24 (Kommissariat 24) at the Munich Police Headquarters.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Munich's headquarters for non-operational areas, including the investigative service, is located at Denisstraße 1, approximately 500 meters from the main station. The contact information for the Federal Police Inspectorate Munich can be found at Wolfgang Hauner, located at Denisstraße 1 - 80335 Munich, phone: 089 515 550 110, email: [email protected].

The 16-year-old, upon being handed over to the police headquarters in Munich, put up massive resistance against three officers. However, the officers remained uninjured and were able to continue their service. The 16-year-old, against whom investigations are being conducted for suspected mutual bodily harm, was ordered for a remand hearing.

The 27-year-old student was treated on the spot by rescue paramedics and planned to visit a doctor later in the day. His right earlobe was torn, and he had a swelling in the cheek area. The second student complained of pain in his leg.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Munich covers over 210 stations and stops on 440 kilometers of track, including three of the four largest Bavarian stations. The authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
